The Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) credential is an objectively designed
pathway for trained sleep technologists to demonstrate their knowledge and aptitude
in sleep technology. In order to obtain the RST credential, a sleep technologist
must pass the Sleep Technologist Registry Examination.
The next Sleep Technologist Registration exam will be offered later this year.
All sleep technologists who have passed the Board of Registered Polysomnographic
Technologists examination prior to December 31, 2011 and are Registered Polysomnographic
Technologists in good standing are eligible to apply for equivalency status and
receive the Registered Sleep Technologist certification from the ABSM.
Sleep Technologist Registry Equivalency Applications are due on March 31,
2012.
